The Tealwood Homeowners Association Annual Meeting is being held this coming Tuesday, February 23 at 6:00PM at the Memorial Forest Club. We would like for as many households as possible to be represented at the meeting so that we will have a quorum for the voting.

However, if you cannot attend, it is very important that you print and complete the proxy form here so that your vote can be counted! If you don’t have someone in mind to vote in your stead, you can fill in Jim Dunn as your proxy. Please send your proxy with someone attending the meeting or to Jeff Davis via email or at 339 Tamerlaine.

Our SN Drainage Committee would like everyone to know that there will be 4 public meetings held by the Corps Of Engineers to announce their plans regarding Barker and Addicks dams. The first meeting is 2/17 at Frostwood Elementary, from 7-9pm. There should be an announcement in the Chronicle with more details regarding the meetings.

The Tealwood Homeowners Association Annual Meeting will be held on February 23 starting at 6:00 PM at the Memorial Forest Club. All homeowners are invited to attend.

Under the bylaws, Jim Dunn, 2009 President-Elect, will assume the office of President at the annual meeting. Jim chaired a nominating committee to develop a slate of Officers and Directors for 2010. The nominating committee consists of current officers and other homeowners.

This year we had our first neighborhood wide block party celebrating Halloween on October 31st.  Kids and Grand kids abound, enjoying hot dogs, entertainment, games, crafts and a costume parade before heading off to Trick or Treat in our beautiful community.  It was a great occasion to kick off the upcoming holiday season with relaxation, music and laughter.  Old friends visited among one another, and many of us made new friends as we took advantage of the chance to get to know new neighbors.

Thank you all for bringing your treats and goodies for the table, and costumed kiddo’s of all ages too!

Many, many thanks also go to our neighbors on the Longworth cul-de-sac who so kindly allowed us to party in their front yard, to the Home Owners Association for supporting a neighborhood wide event, and to all those who worked on the party preparations, especially:

The Tealwood Coffee to Welcome Newcomers is just around the corner! It will be held from 10 AM to noon on Wednesday, November 18, at the home of Kathie and Arch Wall at 242 Vanderpool Ct. If you plan to attend, RSVP to Kathie Wall at (713)465-6216 or by email.

This annual event is a great way to meet your new neighbors and welcome them to the neighborhood while enjoying some coffee and treats.

The Fall Flamingo Friday was held on October 16, 2009, at the home of hostess extraordinare, Sheri Khatami.  With almost 45 Tealwood residents in attendance, a good time was had by all.  Who was there?  Count among the guests Yasmin Rassadi, Dawn and Lorn Frazier, Connie and Paco Noyola, Sam and Gooloo Polad, Simone Westra, Jane Brennan-Martin, and Mike and Sally Curtis.  Still suffering from jet lag after their whirlwind tour of Europe were Scott and Carol Greene.  Also seen sipping and noshing at the sumptuous buffet were Carol Sigler, Robin Goodland, Stephanie and Bruce Newell, Gayle and Bob Longmire, and Tealwod HOA President Jeff Davis.

The Winter Flamingo Friday will be held in January, 2010, at the home of Jane Brennan-Martin.  Details will be published in the December issue of The Tealwood Times, and we hope to see you there!

There will be a Town Hall Meeting for Memorial Villages residents to discuss the proposed HCC Annexation of SBISD and the tax ramifications of the annexation. The meeting will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Day School (335 Piney Point Rd.) on Monday, October 19, at 6:00 PM.
