Definitions: TAKS: The Texas Assessment of Knowledge & Skills is the primary tool for measuring the success of the Texas public school system. Rating: Ratings by the Texas Education Agency are based largely on the results of the TAKS scores, though dropout and completion rates are a factor in secondary schools. Exemplary: Minimum 90% passing each subject on the TAKS. Min. 95% high school completion rate. Recognized: Minimum 75% passing each subject on the TAKS. Min 85% high school completion rate.
