Tealwood Schedule
Holidays: In the event that one of the collection days falls on a holiday, collections will be made on the following scheduled collection day. Scheduled holidays will include: New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. In the event of an "Act of God" pick-up will be made on the following scheduled collection day. Pick-up begins at 7:00 a.m.; all trash and recyclables must be out by this time to ensure timely pick-up. Republic Waste employees are NOT allowed to enter garages. If your trash is placed behind a gate, the gate must be unlocked by 7:00 a.m. No hazardous waste will be picked up (see sample voucher enclosed). BACK DOOR* PICK-UP WILL BE MADE FOR THE FOLLOWING WASTE: You may use any type container for household waste (including the Bunker Hill paper bags) Yard trash in plastic or paper bags will be picked up on the same day as your household waste. A limit of 8 bags will be picked up on any single pick-up day. Recyclables will be picked up on Wednesday in plastic bins furnished by Republic Waste. Do not put glass in the recyclables. Phone books are not recyclable. See below for Recycle regulations. (*BACK DOOR PICK-UP (VISIBLE FROM THE STREET) MEANS ANY OFF-STREET LOCATION CONVENIENT TO YOU AND READILY ACCESSIBLE TO THE MEN DOING THE PICK-UP. THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE BACK DOOR PICK-UP IS TO KEEP UNSIGHTLY TRASH OFF THE CURBSIDES. THERE SHOULD BE NO EXCUSE FOR PLACING HOUSEHOLD OR YARD TRASH AT THE CURB.) FOLLOWING WASTE: By law, the following is not permitted for pick-up: cross ties, tires, solvents, paint, petroleum products, pool chemicals, fertilizer, herbicides, pesticides, hazardous materials/chemicals, logs or stumps, car batteries, soil, rocks, concrete, medical waste, medical sharps and closed containers. Heavy trash will be picked up every Thursday. Items such as water heaters, furniture and other large items should be placed on the curb on the night before or by 7:00 a.m. on the morning of the pick-up. Refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers or items that contain CFC's (Freon), by law, must have the gas removed by a licensed technician and be red tagged prior to collection.
